"Ancient tree pure species" or 古树纯料 refers to the finest tea products made from the tea leaves of wild pu'er trees above 100 years old found in the forests of Yunnan Province, China. These tea leaves are 100% organic and natural without any contaminants from pesticides or fertilisers. The roots of the ancient trees draw up priceless nutrients and essence from the forest ecosystem and the tea cakes made from such old trees are highly sought after for their strong and distinctive layers of flavours. These trees are so tall that the harvesting can only be done by hand by climbing high up onto the branches. Only very small quantities are available each year especially for the first spring harvest. First spring harvest refers to the first sprout of leaves right after the end of winter and the beginning of spring and this harvest captures the most nutrients and essence from Mother Earth.
